Greetings from the rough trails of sunny southern California (we have great winter backpacking).

Welcome aboard. By the looks of the arm and the backpacking equipment, think I'll leave those trails alone. Dealing with an occasional bear seems like a better situation. What are we looking at behind that scene?

I think toejam was picking berries and got berry juice on his arms.

It's Pine Mountain in the Sespe Wilderness. I had to give up clearing that trail after about 30 feet. Wasn't as bad as it looks.

Is that the trail that heads from Pine Mountain ridge down to Haddock camp?

That's it, with hundreds of yards of white thorn ceonothus. I'm headed out to work on a trail this morning and will be on a large trail project next weekend.
