I just got into backpacking not too long ago and just got back from a two day hike on the OHT. I look forward to hearing your stories and advice as well as share some of my experiences along the way!

Welcome!

I'll be heading to OK in ten days to do a loop in Talimena State Park. This is the first of a few trips I plan to take in order to complete the Ouachita end to end.

Have you hiked any of the Ouachita? I'm looking for suggestions for good camp sites, either along the Ouachita or within hiking distance.

I have not hiked the Quachita yet. I've never heard about it actually but I'll do some research! The end of May we are going to hike the rest of the OHT. Sections 4-8. That is if work will allow it. How many miles is the Quachita?

The Ouachita is 220 miles from Talimena State Park in OK to Pinnacle Mountain State Park outside of Little Rock.

I've heard a lot about the OHT. Maybe that will be a goal for another year...
