One of the nation’s premier long distance backpacking routes exists in northern Minnesota’s Arrowhead region. It is possible to connect three trails to create a continuous route totaling greater than 400 miles. These trails include the Superior Hiking Trail (310 miles), Border Route Trail (65 miles), and Kekekabic Trail (41 miles). Highlights include Minnesota’s North Shore along Lake Superior and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. In fact, this route, termed the Arrowhead Re-route, is a major portion of a proposed route adjustment for the North Country Trail, the nation’s longest National Scenic Trail...

Kudos to Eric Moll for a nice round up of beta and pics describing his hike of the Kek, BRT, and Superior Trail segments of the NCT.  I was amazed at the differences in scenery between his early Sept start going NOBO and WEBO compared to a mid Oct start going EABO and SOBO. Looks like he had some very nice weather but still saw the autumn colors.
