I looked back up at her. “What do you mean?” In just a few hours, we – photographers Mark Clinton and Christian McLeod, and I – would know exactly what she meant. Landmannalaugar lies in the south of Iceland, one of the most scenic regions of the country. The southern highlands is the most visually diverse and dramatically contrasted place in the whole of Iceland, with white glacial lagoons just a mountain’s crest away from black lava fields, and mountains saturated in green moss sidling up next to dusty grey hills...
