Hey all my name is Jim and I have not hiked since I got out of the army and that was back in the 80's so I guess you could say I'm new to all this, now I am 57 years of age do have some health problems but nothing that meds- can't take care of, also I'm 6'3 " and way over weight.

so I'm doing this for my health kind of I have always liked camping & hunting, & the last 2 years been running a trap line about a mile out and back with a trapper basket on my back and that is what made me think of hiking I have so much fun on the trap line and lose some pounds I said why not.

I also hammock camp and love it I have a E.N.O Double nest and it works for me but that is a different story, I hope to learn from this site like I said I'm new to this, been looking at some backpack still have not picked one out I like so please feel free to tell what you 

recommend. anyways hope to see ya'll on the trail.
