Hey y'all,

Planning a series of day hikes out west and am looking for recommendations  in south central/eastern Utah. Maybe something at a little higher elevation to help acclimate for subsequent hikes in Colorado later in the week. Looking at Capitol Reef NP but totally open to other ideas.

Thanks!

Jacob

backpacker Bill

Years ago, we did an awesome driving car-camping trip -- drove from ABQ NM to Moab UT, started with day hikes in Arches Ntl Pk while camped at Dead Horse near Canyonlands; next over to Goblin Valley, then nearby Capitol Reef, across Escalante, then down to camp at the best Kodakrome Basin (hot showers) for day hikes in nearby Bryce.   All that said, I do not know of good hiking or backpacking there (our kids were young).  But I'll be monitoring your post, because I'd like to return there some day too...
