Dangers on the trail and deploying 'emergency shelter' in Tahoe

The weather is finally warm enough for shorts so we took a little hike up to Eagle Lake. This is a popular trailhead for tourists because the lake and falls are only about 1.75 miles off the highway.

Coming out we ran into an emergency situation......

and had to deploy my emergency shelter I carry (aka trash bag)...

I am speechless!!

Wow. We need more people like you and less people that just litter everywhere :-)

Nice of you to clean up after other people who obviously don't know the principles of 'Leave No Trace'. Thank you!

Some years ago, I was a BSA troop leader teaching the Leave No Trace Seven Principles to scouts and their parents. Just in case anyone out there doesn't know:

1.Plan Ahead and Prepare

2.Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces

3.Dispose of Waste Properly (also known as "What you pack in, pack out")

4.Leave What You Find

5.Minimize Campfire Impacts

6.Respect Wildlife

7.Be Considerate of Other Visitors

Hard to believe when it would have been so easy for everyone to just pack their trash back out...Thankfully TollerMom was there to come to the rescue!
