Looking to buy a tent with zip-closable mesh windows

I need help. I'm looking for a meshless backpacking tent (2 person).

I grew up with tents, where I could unzip the and zip the mesh windows closed.

I don't want to have to use a rainfly to cover mesh that is otherwise always 'open'. I found a rockin Marmot tent (link below). It's pricey. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a similar tent, that has no permanently-open mesh 'windows'?

I appreciate your help. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Christopher

Why don't you want to use a rainfly?  Inconvenience? Weight?

There are many disadvantages to using a single wall tent which is why almost all tents are double wall nowadays.

You can still find single wall tents, but they can be very pricey.

It would be helpful if you could say what type of backpacking trips you do or want to do.

Thank you for your reply Paul.

It is about convenience. I grew up camping in the 80's and having a zip-closable window was my favorite.

I've tried the mesh tent and the wind flapped the fly against the tent all night and I couldn't sleep. Without a fly, my wife complains she gets too cold.

I would like to start backpacking ~10 miles. I can appreciate the light weight material of just-screen tents.

I prefer the single wall. I can't complain. I don't understand what all the fuss is about? I've been able to find very few. The majority seem that are for freezing temperature.

I appreciate your thoughts.

Sincerely,

Christopher

I did come across this single wall tent:

https://www.amazon.com/Stansport-713-84-B-Scout-Backpack-Tent/dp/B0006V2B2I/ref=sr_1_14?dchild=1&keywords=single+wall+tent&qid=1597473741&sr=8-14

Very simple and inexpensive but is that sort of what you're looking for?

This one from Coleman allows all the mesh to be closed and also has a small rain fly. At 7.2 lbs, could be too heavy for backpacking, depends on you:

https://www.amazon.com/Coleman-Dome-Camping-Sundome-Setup/dp/B014LSDUA8/ref=as_li_ss_tl?th=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=thanfew-20&linkId=1612e4e1a08eaa17276bad8928a95bee&language=en_US&psc=1

You are right, single wall is difficult to find at a reasonable price nowadays.
