Valley of the Five Lakes, Jasper NP, Alberta

Sure is nice hiking when the tourists are all gone, even if some of the scenery is a bit less spectacular. The Rocky Mountain Parks are always beautiful, though.

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. Look for Mr Moose.

The trails on the way in cross over a number of lateral moraines:

Then we reached a pretty little valley:

Up the other side, and back into the bush:

Ancient Douglas Fir

through an aspen grove

and of course spruce and pine

Then the first lake on the left

and the second on the right

The third ahead,

and the fourth

A lunch stop at the fifth lake

and the trails back

Just another really nice fall day in the Canadian Rockies.
