Trail Tracker Software

I just got a new iPad Mini, and I came across an app called 'Trail Tracker'. It's supposed to use GPS to give you a map of where you've been.

I tried it last weekend in the mountains, and it couldn't even connect to a satellite so it didn't work at all. I thought I'd try it in town, so I set it on the dash of my car; while it showed me where I was, it seemed unable to give me any waypoints.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I have 'Locations' turned on and it can find out where I am, but that's about it.

Does anyone know any other good tracking apps?

Hey Peter,

I've been using Gaia GPS on my iPhone for a couple years, and it works great. From what I'm reading only the cellular + Wi-Fi version of the iPad Mini has a GPS chip, do you have the Wi-Fi only version by chance?

If you have the WiFi only, check out the Bad Elf GPS plug in. It works with a lot of off-line apps such as Gaia where you can download maps.
