Earlier this year New Balance released an update to the original 1010, the 1010 v2. The v2 looked like a burlier shoe, and weighed slightly more per pair than the original 1010 – Listed at 8.5 ounces per shoe (Men’s) compared to the 7.7 ounce specification of the original. The v2’s upper is more heavily reinforced and the fabric has been completely changed to an obviously stiffer and heavier fabric. The shoe is well cushioned with a substantial forefoot rockplate, and a partially gusseted tongue helps thwart trail debris.
