Nestled in the Cascade Mountains in northwest Washington state, runs one of my favorite spots for fun in Whatcom County. About fifteen minutes drive on state hwy 542, or Baker highway to us locals, you wind find Mosquito Lake road. As you pull onto it, you are immediately taken by the amount of green surrounding you and your travel-mates. The road winds through the valley and you take in the sights around you as the sun dances through the pine and alder boughs. About 5 miles in, you will find a little logging road that will take you up into the mountains where you will see everything from black bears, to fossilized fish and plants. This is the place to be on a warm summer day for sure.

Has anyone else ever ventured here and know of some specific spots to check out in the area?
