I can't really tell if this is dinner, dessert, or both - It's like taking a one pot meal to the next level! Either way I do know that this doesn't last long in camp. Backcountry Cuisine, Issue 2:

Where would I get dehydrated sweet potatoes? A food store or a hiking store? I'm looking for the perfect Meal for my big adventure next weekend. I saw something made with Red Bud potatoes but now I can't find where I read it.

Hey TollerMom,

We use the dehydrated sweet potatoes from Harmony House. The best method we've found is to soak them in cold water (Perhaps while setting up camp) for about 15 minutes and then just cook the meal as normal - The heat should take care of the rest of the re-hydration. As an alternative you could dehydrate your own at home if you had a dehydrator or for an overnighter, fresh might even work!
